Sign of Spring Journal 2

Another Sign of Spring to me is Valentines Day. It is a sign of spring to me because every year in elementary school we had a party. So every year when Valentines Day comes I always think that Spring is coming closer. We had a party every year in till this year. Some years some one my friends and I had a Valentines party out side of school. So this always reminded me of spring.

Also another Sign of Spring is February vacation. Because we have it every year my family and I go on vacation somewhere. This year we went to Costa Rica. It is a reminder because we always go to a warm place. So it reminds me that soon here in Boston it will get warm too. So those are some of the reminders that spring is coming.

Signs of Spring Journal 1

Today I observed on T.V Groundhog Day. On CNN they showed Punxsutawney Phil. They took him out of his cage and they saw the shadow. Seeing the ground hogs shadow means that winter will be over in six weeks. But if Punxsutawney Phil does not see his it means that winter may soon end. This is a sign weather winter will be over sooner or later. This is the 98th time we saw Phil's shadow in the last 112 years. He lives in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where he hibernates.

Since he did see his shadow there will be 6 more weeks of winter. But this is a sign of spring to me because every year when Groundhog Day comes I know there is only a month and a half left. There has only been four years when he did not see his shadow in 112 years. So mostly every January 2nd we will see the shadow. Also we will know that there is still 6 weeks of winter.
